Early Start!

So my New Year Resolution:
Loose weight and keep it off!
So I got a gym membership again. I am also drinking a lot more water. Trying not to eat as much sugar/starch/carbs.
So I am trying to do cardio three days a week and then weights/strength training 3 times a week.

My long term goal, loose 100 lbs.
First off, I would like to reach my pre-pregnancy weight.

I Wonder. . .

Sometimes, I wonder how people perceive the kid's names. I wonder what they think. When I hear the name Freedom, I think "oh it's a hippy kid". Where as with Brye, everyone automatically assumes that it's short for Brian or Bryson. Then when they see the spelling of his first name (Ehren) it seriously throws them off.
Don't ask... just randomness.

Santa!

I got all the gifts wrapped up, well except for the big-ish "Santa" gifts. At first, Brye was the one who wanted to unwrap the gifts, now Freedom is crawling to the tree and trying. Which I guess is better than her trying to use the tree to stand up. Also, here is a picture that I took of the first time that either kids have seen Santa.

Sick babies.

I just hate it when they are sick. Both have pink eye, which shouldn't be contagious by tomorrow, and an ear infection. Brye has a nasty cold on top of it. Freedom is extra whiney. Not sure if it's due to her ears or the her new "skill" that she is trying to master. Freedom now stands up in the crib and in the playpen (when she is put in it) and "walks" around the edge of it. She gets up, walks, but doesn't know how to get back down without a PLOP! (and me scared that her arm will be ripped out of socket).
Oh, and did I mention that Brandon and I have both developed pink eye ?!?
Well off to bed!

So what if I prefer to be clean.

So the major argument starter this evening... the fact that I've been cleaning all day, haven't had a chance to shower, but yet am required to go to the store. I showered yesterday, so in 24 hours my oily hair gets pretty bad. I was planning on showering right before bed. It doesn't bother me to take a shower to be able to run to the store. I am more bothered by being told that I had to go. He could go by himself. He's a big boy. He tells me that I am a big girl when I don't feel like going by myself somewhere. But rather than accepting the fact that I would like to be clean, he yells at me about wanting to take a shower before we go. Sure, a lot of people do go to town go in nasty pajamas and hair that hasn't been washed in weeks. I am not one of them. So sorry if you have to wait for me to take a shower. Maybe your "superior" man brain should have realized that you needed to go to the store after work.

And the World Keeps on Turning. . .

I am sick. The house is messy because all I want to do is sleep. The kids need me, my husband (more like my third kid) needs me. Why is it that when Brandon gets sick, he gets to take the day off work? His mom makes him soup and he spends the day in bed. What happens when I get sick? Well I take Brandon to work, come home get both kids ready. Take Brye to school, and my father to work. Come home and pray that Freedom takes her morning nap so that I might be able to rest. Lunch time rolls around, I have to either take Brandon his lunch because he didn't make it, or forgot it, waste an hour of my time doing something to avoid driving home just to turn around to get Brye from school. We get home, and of course neither child is cooperative. Brye always has a temper tantrum after school, which gets Freedom screaming, but someone has to feed, play with and tend to the kids. Then we get Brandon, waste more time to get my father, then everyone is back home. Do I get a break? I wish! Brandon is worse than Brye at times. Supper, dishes, cleaning, putting the kids to bed. Then cleaning after the kids go to bed so Brandon doesn't step on anymore of Brye's toys which gets him crying hysterically in the mornings. Is it time for bed yet? Well, after I make sure the bed is made right so that the sheets don't come off in the middle of the night, we finally climb in. Then it magically happens that instead of talking about stuff during the day, Brandon wants to talk about it then. I am tired, sick and all I want is sleep. Once I magically fall asleep, Freedom is up and screaming. I get her calmed down only to find that Brye is up and scared because of her. Help? No, he is sleeping because he "works a real job". Back to bed, only to repeat this once an hour all night long. Then Brandon, his snoring will drive you crazy, and he lays diagonally in the bed so it's a fight to get back in.
All I want for Christmas: SLEEP!

Something New

I finally got around to downloading fire fox on to the laptop.  I found this add-on for blogging so here I am, trying it out.

Who wants to make me a time machine?

So, a dream of mine has always been to be a journalist. I really have no idea why. When I was younger, I always made family newsletters and made my own weekly newspaper. Fast forward to today, I have no idea how to pursue this. I currently don't have the resources to go back to school and get a degree. Add this to the long list of things I wish I would have thought of 9 years ago.

New Camera

So, here is one of the first pictures from my new camera. Earlier, I realized that Freedom will be 6 months tomorrow.

Birthday Ideas

Still totally stumped over locations for Brye's birthday party. I don't want to do anything "commercial". I want to have an "Old Fashioned" type of party. My aunt Karen used to throw my cousins the BEST birthday parties ever.

Oh Joy!

So I went to rinse out Freedom's dirty diaper this morning, only to discover that the water froze last night. Well it has thawed out. . . now the pipes are busted. That makes the 3rd time this year we've had problems with the water itself. Not counting the lack of water pressure or the pipes becoming loose. What I wouldn't give for a new house with decent plumbing.

I Think I suck at Life.

I am unsuccessful. I suck at life and apparently everything I do. All I want to do is make something, it turn out right and be able to sell it. The things that do turn out right are just sitting in my etsy shop. I searched for other items that are similar to mine, and they are selling when mine are better quality. I have a few ideas, but every time I try I fail. I am just going to give up. It's not worth the headache and hassle. Etsy... yet ANOTHER thing I have failed at.

She Sat UP!!

You know you're a mom when you get excited over tiny things. Today as I was cooking Brandon's soup, Freedom finally sat up! She has been trying for a long time and she finally did it.

Our daily frustration.

If you even see the picture, this is the parking situation everyday when we drop off and pick up Brye. There are 2 rows to park in. One is a full row along the back side and the middle row is only about 1/4 of the length of the back row. It is handicap parking only. This van, as pictured, is in an imaginary parking spot. They are blocking access from that point on. I also have a picture of the license plate. They were obviously there before we got there, and they were still there when I left. I had to do a 47.5 point turn to get out. Thankfully the other parking spots next to me were empty.

In Honour of Veteran's Day

I was wanting to do something special for Veterans Day, or as I like to call it: Remembrance Day (since I am Canadian after all). I am planing on making some poppies for us to wear that day. There is a veteran who holds a special place in our hearts, Wiser Lee Shaw. Better known as Bill Shaw, or "Uncle Bill" to Brandon. He was in the navy during WWII. He served on USS Mack (DE 358). He told us many interesting stories, from "Banana Milkshakes", "Growing Coconuts, and drinking "green" beer and torpedo juice with Matthew. Unfortunately, he has passed away. I only wish that he could Brye and Freedom. They called Bill "Lucky" in WWII because he took a piece of shrapnel in his back. That is part of the reason that we call Brye "Brye". When choosing his name, the source of his whole name means "luck of the Irish." Brandon thinks that Bill would have liked "Freedom" because he fought for freedom.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Where did I come from?

So I thought this was going to have to go in a very odd direction. Stalling, I asked Brye where he thought he came from. "The mountains mommy, I come from the mountains!" It was so adorable. I have no idea where he came up with that. He is now obsessed with mountains. Every morning he asks if he can go home to the mountains.

Halloween!

So yes, I am late with the pictures. I have like 5o of them uploaded to myspace. Freedom was sick so we didn't take her out trick-or-treating. Brye had a ball. This was the first year that he really got what was going on.

Ideas... Ideas...

These came from an image search on Google.

Trick or Treat!

Brye is getting excited about Halloween. I think they are learning about it in school, and he sees in on Noggin. He wants to practice trick or treating all the time. He asked me what if I was going to be a princess or a pirate. Oh and on the topic of Noggin, there is a little song that Moose sings and one line is "I don't like candy corn". Brye thinks is hilarious when I ad lib something in the place of "candy corn". He tried it last night and came up with Pumpkin Sauce. When I ask him if he likes candy corn, he says "OH YES! I love cany corn!"

Bubbles

I went to wake Brye up this morning and his response... "Mommy I blowing bubbles. Can I finish?"
I just thought it was so cute, he was dreaming. I am sure he has been dreaming for a long time, but this is the first that I've ever known about it. I've always wondered what kind of dreams he had.

Jealousy

Brye is suddenly jealous of Freedom's stuff. He wanted in the exasaucer. He got in it, but got stuck. He figured out that he could get into the crib we just set up, and he's been climbing in it and playing there all day. He likes to play with her toys. So maybe he just wants to be a baby again? He has been giving Freedom his toys. He wants to hold her and hug her.
On a side note, I didn't throw out the exasaucer. It was in my Dad's storage unit. It's missing one of the toys, but I have an idea where it is. Freedom LOVES it. Oh, and the sleeper in this picture, it has angel wings. Adorable.

Sleep is Awesome!

Now why won't anyone tell my kiddo that?
I am sure it's the age he is, but seriously, I would love for this kid to go to sleep when I put him to bed. He is up like every 5 minutes asking for something... hugs, kisses, juice, crackers. You name it he has probably asked for it. This is supposed to be MY time. Kiddos in bed, I am supposed to be able to relax, but no... the little bugger won't go to sleep.

Brye is so excited!

This Saturday he will be attending his first birthday party! It's being hosted at a place that he loves so I know he will have fun. Although I am not sure he grasps the concept of a party.
Thanks Billie for the invite!

Shameless Plug.

I am attempting to add to our income* by selling some of my creativity on etsy.
Gnome Grown Designs. It's awesome, you should check it out.
If you convo me before buying, and you are local, I won't charge any shipping.
I love to make stuff and try out new things. Etsy lets me sell of my creative surplus.
Hopefully I can add some photography to there soon.
There is also an etsy widget on the bottom of my blog.

*In reality, it feeds my cloth diaper addiction. You don't want Freedom not being able to wear the cutest diapers there are... do you?
/end guilt-trip.

Welcome!

So, here is my newest venture: A family blog.
The truth: All the cool kids are doing it.
I actually have a couple of other blogs, but want to condense all the family stuff into one.
